Illustrator vs. Photoshop

Being enrolled at Keiser, I was both excited and nervous getting involved in Graphic Arts & Design. I was never the type of person that was too keen of technology. I always turned to my friends and family that were more tech savvy than me. But being in the design lab for what is almost two months I’m beginning to get the hang of it. I started off using Illustrator and created something for a project I was nervous presenting. It was a concert poster for a musician I really enjoyed listening too. It’s nerve-racking to show something personal that took time since you did have to learn how to use the tools in this adobe program. Then next month, I had to use Photoshop. At first, I was nervous because it’s a little more advanced than Illustrator I believe. I started to say I didn’t like it just because I couldn’t get the hang of how everything worked. From the tools to the layers, it was all so different but then we had a surprise project contest where we were teamed up with some of the other students that are more advanced because they’ve been in the program longer. And I saw my teammate do some things in Photoshop I didn’t know before. And she moved through it so effortlessly. As soon as we finished, I went right back to my project to use what I had just learned on my own. And I’m happy with my outcome. I’ve learned so much just by watching others or by lecture and also doing hands-on helped too. I just like how I can see myself growing. I’ve never would thought I could create anything like this.
